Terms & Conditions of Collaborative Acquisitive Entry

 
  1. There is a maximum of 1 entry per Collaborative Team.
  2. For the purpose of this Acquisitive Award, a Collaborative Team must be made up of two individuals.
  3. Throughout this document the Collaborative Team will be referred to as the Entrant.
  4. The entry must be a single item of the Entrant’s own design and solely own work (i.e. not using a kit or a pattern).
  5. By submitting an entry, the Entrant certifies that the work entered is their sole and original work and their sole and unencumbered property.
  6. The entry must have been made between February 2019 and February 2020.
  7. Winning designs from other competitions may not be submitted.
  8. The entry must comply with the approximate ratio of 75% glass 25% other material.
  9. The entry must not be more than 1 metre in any dimension and must weigh no more than 15 kilograms.
  10. The Entrant is responsible for ensuring the entry is free of copyright restrictions.
  11. The copyright of each entry remains with its maker, but by entering the competition you grant licence for the entry to be photographed and used in Festival of Glass publicity and promotion.
  12. Unless free standing, the entry must be submitted with items enabling them to be displayed. E.g. stands, busts etc. Entrants should keep in mind that black tablecloths are used on the display tables.
  13. When submitting the entry, the Entrant must provide a photo. The image should show the entire entry and should indicate how the entry should be displayed,
  14. The Festival of Glass Committee will take every reasonable care with all entries but does not accept any responsibility for any damage or loss. Damage to or loss of any entry, however and whenever it occurs, is the Entrant’s sole responsibility. Entrants are advised to insure entries, against damage or loss.
  15. Entries to the Awards Competition must be delivered to the Festival Expo venue between 12.30 and 2.30 pm on Sat 15th Feb 2020. Judging of Awards will occur between 3.00 and 4.00 pm.
  16. During the judging process all members of the public, including Entrants, will be asked to leave the area where the judging is occurring.
  17. Entries will each be allocated an item number, different to the Artcall allocated code. This is to ensure anonymity.
  18. Entries made by post, must include return packaging and postage. The Entrant’s name must be on the packaging but not on the entry.
  19. One printout from Artcall must be submitted with the entry. It is not to be pasted on the entry. This printout will be signed at the time of the entry being delivered and returned to the Entrant. This signed Artcall printout must be brought back on the Sunday as proof of identity to collect any unsold entries.
  20. The Festival of Glass Committee reserves the right not to display an entry that it deems unsuitable and will not discuss its decision verbally or in writing.
  21. Location and display of entries will be at the discretion of the Festival of Glass Committee.
  22. Should an entry be available for sale and sold during the Festival Expo, the Festival of Glass Committee will take 10% commission of the sale price. This excludes the Acquisitive winning entry.
  23. Access to Competition entries is not permitted unless approved by the Awards Coordinator.
  24. All unsold entries must be collected at the close of the Festival of Expo.
