This award is for a piece of art made mainly or entirely of glass. You must design and create the piece yourself without using a kit, pattern or design from someone else.
It will be judged using the following criteria: aesthetic appeal (beauty, artistry, balance, design, proportion), craftsmanship, creativity. The criteria are weighted slightly in favour of aesthetic appeal.
All entries will be considered for this award.
This award is for the runner-up to the Best in Show Glass Art Award.
This award is for an entry that has been designed and created collaboratively by two artists. It must be 75% glass.
It will be judged using the following criteria: originality and complexity of design, choice and creative use of the collaborative media, degree of difficulty of techniques used, correct ratio of glass (75%) to the other medium (25%), craftsmanship, presentation and the Artists' Statement.
This is an acquisitive award. The sponsor acquires the winning entry, in effect purchasing it with the prize money. In all documentation the two artists will be referred to as the ‘Entrant’.
This award is for the best piece of glass art that expresses the unique identity of the Bellarine Peninsula. Bellawein is the name given to the Bellarine area by the Wathaurong people, its original inhabitants.
The entry can be a piece of functional, sculptural or wearable glass art made mainly or entirely of glass. You must design and create the piece yourself without using a kit, pattern or design from someone else.
It will be judged using the following criteria: originality (uniqueness of design), sophistication (complexity of entry), technical execution (neatness, durability, use of colour etc), the clarity and relevance of the artist's statement of intention in relation to the award focus being a clear expression of the Bellarine region’s unique identity and the quality of the display of the exhibit.
This award is for the best piece of functional glass art made mainly or entirely of glass. You must design and create the piece yourself without using a kit, pattern or design from someone else.
It will be judged against the criteria of functionality, originality (uniqueness of design), sophistication (complexity of entry), technical execution (neatness, durability, use of colour etc), attention to scale, the clarity and relevance of the Artist's Statement and the quality of the display of the exhibit.
This award is for the best piece of sculptural glass art made mainly or entirely of glass. You must design and create the piece yourself without using a kit, pattern or design from someone else.
It will be judged against the criteria of originality (uniqueness of design), sophistication (complexity of entry), technical execution (neatness, durability, use of colour etc), attention to scale, the clarity and relevance of the Artist's Statement and the quality of the display of the exhibit.
This award is for the best piece of wearable glass art such as jewellery, a beaded garment, clutch bag, etc. The item must be made mainly or entirely of glass. You must design and create the piece yourself without using a kit, pattern or design from someone else.
It will be judged against the criteria of wearability, originality (uniqueness of design), sophistication (complexity of entry), technical execution (neatness, durability, use of colour etc), attention to scale, the clarity and relevance of the Artist's Statement and the quality of the display of the exhibit.
This award is for glass artists within their first two years of exhibiting. The entered piece must not have been previously exhibited anywhere. You must design and create the piece yourself without using a kit, pattern or design from someone else. It will be judged using the following criteria: aesthetic appeal (beauty, artistry, balance, design, proportion), craftsmanship, creativity. The criteria are weighted slightly in favour of aesthetic appeal.
*Non Professional: A person receiving less than $1,000 per year from his/her glass art.
Professional: A person receiving more than $1,000 per year from his/her glass work OR who runs glass art workshops (regardless of the amount of money they receive).
All winning entries will be presented with a certificate.
